Movement is Life..... without movement, life is unthinkable’
- these words spoken by Moshe Feldenkrais are a hint to us about the importance of good posture, flexibility, agility, balance, poise, rhythm – some of the components of graceful movement.
In this workshop we will use one of the means offered in the Feldenkrais Method “Awareness through Movement” to explore our habitual ways of moving. We find out if they are helpful to us, or could be contributing to our bad backs, painful hips and knees, stiff shoulders or whatever. We learn new patterns, and re-establish the natural feeling of connectedness that allows pain and muscular tension to dissolve leading to freer and easier movement.
I will be guiding gentle movement sequences focused around a particular body part or movement theme. They are usually carried out lying down. We will be working on the floor. Please bring a mat or blanket to lie on and wear warm. Loose clothing. Suitable for all ages and abilities.
