Lindy Hop is the original partner swing dance, that was danced to the Big Band Swing Music of the 1930's/40's and now to modern swing bands.
It is an African American dance that grew directly out of the Charleston. "Shorty George" gave the dance its name in 1927 soon after Charles Lindbergh flew across the Atlantic.
